Born
in 1970 in Nancy France, Catherine grew up as an only child. Her devoted
father was a painter and inventor. After his sudden death, Catherine
at the age of 4 years old experienced her tumultuous childhood with
a creative need to express her grief and sadness with images and colors.
During her teen years, Catherine developed her skillful draftsmanship
and a trendy sense of design.
At 16, she moved to California to further her artistic education
where she continued to excel in ceramics, drawing, oil painting and
web design. Catherine earned her B.A. at UC Santa Barbara. Catherine
learned to integrate her emotions onto her artwork as a tool to express
her "mood of the moment". Her artwork is known to be intuitive and
emotionally evoking deep sentiments in all viewers.
In 2003, Catherine returned to school to earn her M.A. in clinical
Psychology. Today, Catherine is professionally training as a Marriage
Family Therapist and happily utilizes her artistic skills to work
with adults, teens and children survivors of trauma.
Statement:
"Art and Psychology are my two strongest passions.
Psychology is a way of life. It is a pure and solid vessel to navigate
the vast emotional sea of the human kind and its behaviors. Art is
a tool to channel thoughts and emotions. It helps me express my needs,
fears, and moods. I stop painting when the image feels right and complete."
